Review! - Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream!

The Skin79 website says this about The Oriental Gold BB cream:
HIGH QUALITY MULTI-FUNCTION MOISTURIZING BB CREAM. Luxurious tea ingredients helps skin remain moist and comfortable while presenting smooth and even skin. Also the cream lip & cheek completes the bright and lively makeup.

I wore this BB cream for about two weeks (not every day), and overall, I liked it.  It won't make the final rounds to find the perfect BB cream for me, though.

I found that this cream is too light for my skintone.  By the end of the day I ended up looking very chalky, and my skin looked very dry even though it wasn't.  To make it wearable, I added a similar amount of Garnier's BB cream in light/medium.  If you've read my other reviews, you know that I don't like to mix anything in with the BB creams, because I don't want to skew the results.  However, this cream would have been unwearable, due to the tone, had I not deepened the color.

For the benefits, I did notice a more even skintone the day after wearing.  However, after a weekend of not wearing it, by skintone started to revert quickly to its previous state.  I'm unbothered by this, as I don't expect a topical product to have results that last too far beyond its removal.  I did notice some softening of the fine lines on my forehead.  That improvement was minimal, but for only two weeks of wear, I think it was pretty good.

I really like the scent of Skin79 products.  So far, all the products I have tried have had a noticeable, clean, floral scent to them.  The scent does gradually dissipate, but I appreciate having something that smells nice when it comes out of the bottle.  I don't like it when my cosmetics have a plastic or chemical smell; but rather I prefer clean scents or completely scentless (not to be confused with unscented).

How do you do it?
To apply, I put a pea-sized dollop on my index finger.  Then I put a pea-sized dollop of Garnier's on my middle finger.  Then I mashed the two together with the fingers from my other hand, and rubbed them together until they were well blended.  Then I patted that all over my face.  Finally, I used my fingers to blend it in.  If using the Skin79 cream alone, I patted it all over my face, and then blended with a stipple brush.  I find that Garnier's makes the BB cream finger-blendable, whereas any other time I apply an Asian BB cream I need to use the stipple brush or the finish is very uneven.

After a few minutes, I set the cream with a translucent powder.  I found the coverage, with one layer, to be light.  It evened out my skintone nicely, but did not cover imperfections.  It also did not cover the undereye area with one layer.  I don't mind a sheer finish, but if you want medium to full coverage, you are going to need multiple layers.

The Verdict:
On its own, I wasn't very happy with this cream's finish.  When I mixed it with a bit of Garnier's BB cream, I loved the consistency.  It applied more smoothly, with fingers, and seemed to really sink into my skin better.  I won't buy this cream again, but I will use up the rest of my sample tube.
