Lip Swatch! - Wet n Wild Megalast Matte Lipstick - Pink Suga 900B

I swatched out 13 more Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks here.   I'm starting out the lip swatch follow ups, and first up is 900B - Pink Suga.

This is not pink.  On me, it turned a weird, peachy-orange color that was not flattering to me.  It was pretty disappointing.  This is not a color that goes with my skintone, so I won't be able to wear it on its own.  However, because it is a pale color, it would give interesting effects to other lipsticks.  On the plus side, it photographs much better than it looked, so it will be something to keep in mind if I know I'll be photographed.

First, bare lips.  I prepped them with a thin application of lip balm.  I've misplaced my Lansinoh:, so I am using Lip Smackers until I find it.

Now, a thin layer, applied from the tube, in a patting motion..  I'm sure you can tell, but yes, I left half of my lips bare for comparison.  I think it would have applied better with a brush, but alas, I misplaced that, too.

Now for what I would call full strength.  I applied directly from the tube.  Keep in mind that this is a matte formula, but it does go on creamy.  If you put some lip balm on your lips before applying it, the formula will remain a satin finish.  If you apply the lipstick without any balm, the finish will look matte, but will feel satin on your lips.

Next is full lip.  I applied directly from the tube to the bare side, and it only needed one coat.  This lipstick is very opaque when applied directly from the tube.
Here is a full-face shot, to give you a better idea of how it works with skin tone.

I can add some pink gloss to the top of this, and it makes it more wearable for me.

What do you think?

  1. I'm thinking, I love the bangs! But, yeah, your lips are doing nothing for me here.

  2. I second that--love the bangs, don't like the color. I'm finding it hard to find a good nude, too.

  3. Thanks ladies! I am loving the bangs, too. I'm wanting to try out some vintage hair styles, like victory rolls! Michelle, the best nude I have found so far is by Sephora, and the color is called Rouge Shine, in Tenderness. http://www.sephora.com/rouge-shine-lipstick-P310714?skuId=1381854

The bad thing about it is I feel like it starts to dry out my lips after a while. So, the color is perfect, but the formula leaves something to be desired. Namely, lasting moisturizing properties.
