In the Flesh sounds like it should be a nude color. However, I find that it is more of a brick pink... if there is such a color term. It is an orange-pink with some brown tones. I can wear this color year-round, but typically it needs to be worn sheer for spring and summer, and can be worn full-strength for fall and winter. It is not a bright color, and I feel that blush and a somewhat-bright eye is needed when wearing this color to avoid a dusty looking face.
First, bare lips. I prepped them with a thin application of Lansinoh:
Now, a thin layer, applied with a lip brush. I'm sure you can tell, but
yes, I left half of my lips bare for comparison. This thin layer is very close to some of the natural tones on my lip.
Next is full lip. I applied directly from the tube to the bare side, and it only needed one coat. This lipstick is very opaque when applied directly from the tube.
Here is a full-face shot, to give you a better idea of how it works with skin tone. Leaving this shade matte on me makes me feel like I look dusty... perhaps, mono-chromatic? I prefer to top this color with a sparkly gloss, anyway. But here it is blotted and without a topper.
Like the other Megalast colors, this formula is very nice. The color will stick around for hours. Using a balm underneath it makes its lasting power decline, but also allows you to effectively blot it to a more work-friendly daytime look. I have found that adding a gloss on top surprisingly doesn't seem to affect the wear time.
is this a dupe for benefit lipstick "good to go"? I heard it was
ReplyDeleteHello! I haven't seen the Benefit color in person, nor compared swatches of the two. However, you can pick up the WnW color for $2 or less to see if you think it is a good dupe. Thanks for stopping by!
